Jesus J. Baez, of Springfield, admitted to two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and was sentenced to prison and a two-year suspended sentence while he's on parole, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. Prosecutors asked the judge for two years behind bars.
Northampton police said Baez stabbed an 18 and 19-year-old during a brawl outside of his apartment on Bridge Road in August 2020, reports said. Paramedics rushed them to Baystate Medical Center in critical condition, but they both survived.
