Teen Who Admitted To Stabbing Two In Northampton Gets 9 Months: DA

An 18-year-old teen who pleaded guilty to stabbing two men outside of his Meadowbrook apartment in 2020 was sentenced to nine months behind bars on Tuesday, Jan. 31, authorities said. 

Jesus J. Baez, of Springfield, admitted to two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury following an August 2020 double stabbing outside of his apartment in Meadowbrook, authorities said.

Jesus J. Baez, of Springfield, admitted to two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and was sentenced to prison and a two-year suspended sentence while he's on parole, the Northwestern District Attorney's Office said. Prosecutors asked the judge for two years behind bars. 

Northampton police said Baez stabbed an 18 and 19-year-old during a brawl outside of his apartment on Bridge Road in August 2020, reports said. Paramedics rushed them to Baystate Medical Center in critical condition, but they both survived.
